Samuel Roul
My name is Samuel, and I am a watercolorist and illustrator.
I create poetic, sensitive, and colorful works that invite viewers to close their eyes and let their dreams and imagination take flight.
My inspirations are vast and varied. I am deeply moved by nature, the cosmos, landscapes, and birds. I find beauty in words and thoughts, in the connections that unite human beings. Themes like childhood, the quest for identity, and the ties that bind us to ourselves are at the heart of my art.
I discovered watercolor painting in 2020 during the confinement period. Painting every day, I gradually uncovered the limitless possibilities and delicate poetry that watercolor offers. It wasn’t long before I began painting small faces that became my signature series, âmes sensibles (sensitive souls).
I regularly host workshops in the Bordeaux region. Beyond painting, I am also an occupational therapist, actor, and director of short films—different ways for me to tell stories and share my creativity.
